added as either a design element directly onto the dress

I have had it looked at by a couple of people and we all agree that he most likely sourced/had made original fabric from India for this piece

though it could be worn if the damage does not bother you - all the areas seem sound and stable and having been cleaned will have displayed at their worst now

The dress closes with a low set zipper at the back
